What to do if your Dog or Cat pees on your carpet?
When your dog or cat pees on your carpet there are a couple of things that you should need to know when trying to remove it.
The first thing to do is try to sop up as much up as possible. Dont press the liquid deeper into the carpet but gently apply towels, paper towels or napkins to try to remove as much of the liquid as possible.
If you have a pet treatment spray then apply treatment sparingly and gently try to sop up more of the liquid. You also want to try to dry the spot as much as possible.
To remove all of the pet stain and ensure that the carpet isnt broken down by the chemicals in the urine youll want to have PurElements come over and professional take care of the stain. If left untreated for a long amount of time the stain may set in more and permanently affect the coloring or protection level of the carpet.
You thing to be aware of is that the pet stain may have saturated more than just your carpet but may have also gotten into the pad beneath your carpet. When that happens a deeper level cleaning will need to be done. If carpet is treated and the pad is not treated then you will have a recurring stain that keeps coming back even after you seemingly have gotten it completely out of the carpet.
What to do if you have a flood on carpet?
If you have a flood on a carpeted area in your home there are a couple of things you can do to minimize the damage.
First of all, if you notice any mold do not mess with the carpeted area at all and call PurElements immediately. Mold can be extremely dangerous and if you mess with carpet that has severe mold damage you may spread the mold and make the problem worse.
If you don't see any signs of mold and the carpet is wet, you will want to pull the carpet back so that air can get underneath the carpet. This will help your carpet dry faster. Also it will be extremefuly helpful if you open up windows around the area and if you have any of your own fans that could dry the carpet faster then you should put those in the area to get air moving.
If you have a shop vac then you may want to use that to clean up some of the water as well. No matter how well you seem to be handling thep problem yourself, you will still want to call PurElements so we can come back and get 100% of the water out and use chemicals that will prevent the growth of mold.

The Award Winning Carpet Cleaning Process
Step 1- Preparing- putting on booties and using corner guards to protect your house. We will also do a thorough walk-through and provide upfront pricing.
Step 2- Pre-spraying with an Alkaline Base pre-spray that is soap-free, detergent-free, odor-free and non-toxic for kids and pets. Most stains are acid based, so by hitting it with an alkaline it breaks it down.
Step 3- A light agitation, which about 90% of the companies in Utah do not do which is a shame because it gets a 10% deeper clean.
Step 4- True Hot Water extraction, over 230 degrees. We use purified water which allows us to completely rinse the carpet leaving it residue free. We also use a power wand that is 20 times more effective than what most companies use.
Step 5- We do a dry stroke after we are done cleaning which helps to get a faster dry time. Our normal dry time is typically 3-6 hours.
Step 6- The technician will do a post walk thru to make sure everything is up to your standard.
